Brenda Resch co-founded Compass after two decades of experience in public policy, state legislative affairs and nonprofit administration. Over the past ten years, she has served as policy advisor for the Michigan Attorney General, chief of staff to Michigan State Senator and Senate Education Chair Phil Pavlov, policy advisor for a congressional candidate and a gubernatorial campaign, and policy advisor for a legislative caucus in the Michigan House of Representatives.

Before entering the public policy realm, Brenda spent four years in alumni relations at a Big Ten university, and prior to that held administrative positions with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, and Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Brenda graduated from Hillsdale College, where she studied history and English, and for many years served on the alumni board at Interlochen Center for the Arts. She is a member of the board of directors at Lansing Christian School.

A native of Southern California, she now lives in Lansing with her husband, Matt, and their sons, Owen and Cooper.

Rebecca Schneider
Partner

Before co-founding Compass, Rebecca Schneider managed her own consulting firm focused on guiding and growing legislative advocacy coalitions, directing nonprofits, and developing public policy. Her clients included the Great Lakes Metro Chambers Coalition and the Great Lakes Manufacturing Council. Rebecca created that business after an eleven-year career in government relations and public service that included the Michigan Senate, Michigan Attorney General, Karmanos Cancer Institute and Congressman Joe Schwarz, M.D. 

Rebecca holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from Kalamazoo College and a Master of Public Administration from The George Washington University. While at G.W. she also served as a congressional fellow at Ford Motor Company’s Washington Affairs Office.

Rebecca is a founding board member of Saline Main Street, a nonprofit aimed at enhancing the vitality of downtown Saline. She also co-chairs Saline Main Street’s Oktoberfest, an annual fundraiser that has become one of the community’s signature events.

Rebecca and her husband, Matthew, reside in Saline with their daughter and son.
